Getting a MacBook tomorrow, I currently have a Creative 5.1 speaker system but it has too many wires and the Sub is too big so im looking for a 2.0 or 2.1 setup.

Was looking at these in the apple shop : Bose Companion 2 V2 Speakers

Looking to spend up to about £100 what do you reccomend?

Not a fan of them Bose speakers, they do sound a tat too tiny and weak on the warmth bass and clearer mid-range my Aego M can do. I got mine about 18months ago so was under £100, these days, a good shop around can bag you one Brand New for under £100.

I can't recommend them enough for a simple 2.1 setup for people with Music in mind. It's not going to beat a £x00 Amp and Bookshelves speakers but for the price, it's as close as quality (both sound and built standards)

The White ones also matches the MacBook nicely :p (I know, I own them)

Get a 3.5mm to TOSlink adapter, cheaper than £100 and you can keep your ld speakers.

Disclaimer: The above may be slightly in-accurate, but as the output on the MB is digital you just need to get the right adapter.

I use some Creative T20's they are extremely nice for the price :) bit bass heavy but for the money a great small purchase :)

The Bose Companion IIs aren't very good, really. Not bad, but not worth what they cost. I use T20s too and they're excellent for the price. They sound far better than you'd expect for £50 and no sub!

Ok the Creative Gigaworks look pritty good.

Shall i get the T20's or the T40's? its only £20 more for the T40's shall i spend the extra or not?

Edit: well i couldn't wait any longer.. ordered the T40's
