I am eagerly awaiting the arrival of my Lenovo X121e netbook. It is likely to have pretty poor quality speakers, so I have been trying to work out the best way to connect to a set of fixed speakers. I'm thinking I'd like to go with wireless, as I like the idea of being able to use speakers without having my machine right next to them. I'm also thinking of getting a set of wireless headset for the same reason. As I don't have any experience in this area, I have a few questions...
(1) Wired or wireless - I am assuming I'm not going to get significant performance decrease by going with wireless... is this right? Is it realistic to expect to be able to transmit from the other side of the room? Would the signal interfere with wireless internet or mouse?
(2) Bluetooth or RF - Is there any significant difference between the two in terms of performance (sound quality and signal strength/distance)? Would it be necessary to choose bluetooth if I had an RF mouse (or vice versa) to avoid interference?
(3) If I decide to go down the bluetooth route, I was thinking of connecting a cheapish receiver module via 3.5mm jack to my existing PC speakers, and buying a headset like Creative WP-300. Any comments?
(4) If I decide to go down the RF route, would it be possible to have a load of wireless devices running from one transmitter (speakers or headset with keyboard and mouse)?
Bit confused... I know! Any answers or more general advice would be much appreciated. Also, I'd be interested to hear other people's solutions, so please do share!
Thanks!
