After decorating the kids bedroom iv'e set up my PC speakers System in there room

Set up was
B&W 600 S3 connected with a Yamaha CRX-M170 Receiver
Now ive dug out my old Logitech X-140 2.0 Speakers and the sounds is awful.:(
What type of speaker system would i be looking at be a descent replacement and wont have me cringing when playing anything. iv'e resorted in listing though my DAP on my head phones. But it cant stay on the PC. Any help as am not sure of whats out there. More of a hi-fi chap then PC speakers.

For under £100 you could may be consider this:

If it is like the user feedback said that it is on par with the Corsair SP2500 that he replace, then it is really good for the money.

Alternatively if you prefer the bookshelf type speakers, you could may be have a look at the Edifier R1700/R1800 range (there are also models with bluetooth connection with the BT sub-fix behind the model number).

I picked up a brand new set of Monitor Audio WS100 from RS the other day for £90. An absolute steal though not sure if that is the kind of thing you are looking for.

Whilst I think the MA WS100 is no doubt great that price as far as tiny speakers go, it won't be great for music that are more bass heavy considering the low frequency only go down to 80Hz; it probably would have punchy mid-bass, but you are likely already noticed something is missing at the lower-end.

Edifier stereo speakers are a good choice for music. Good quality and inexpensive. If there's a lack of desk space though and you need something small, then Creative T20 are an option; or maybe a 2.1 set of speakers, such as the previously mentioned Edifier C2XD.
