speakers not working in vista

ok i have noticed that in vista my speaker don't work, i don't get any sound at all, except when i connect it up through my tv to my surround sound. i've tried all the audio jacks.

(btw the speakers work in xp)

help please!

Probably something to do with the default output device in Vista - you might find its switched over to digital something or other.
