Speakers on a budget?

A mate of mine is after a decent set of speakers for his PC, for gaming, music and films. Hes not an audiophile, but something decent would be nice. Hes looking for a maximum of around the £60 mark, as a student.

So, a few questions, any recommended sets, 2.1 or 5.1?

My mate was looking at the logitech X-540s, are they any good? I love my Z-5500s, but they're way out of his budget.

hes now upped the budget to £100, and is currently looking at the logitech G51s. any beter ideas?

any recommendations overall? looking between the logitech G51s and zZ2300s. anyone with any experience of these?
