Speakers Squealing!!!

I recently plugged my laptop in to my tv and the speakers on the laptop started squealing so i turned it off as quick as possible but now it just keeps making a frequent squealing noise if im doing something or not...
Anyone any ideas?
I may have to resort to sending back to Toshiba....Thing is i have put win 7 on it (came with vista) will i have to put windows vista on it? so i dont void the warranty or?

How exactly have you connected the two?

I used a HDMI cable....but why would it make the speakers squeal? it does it even if im not connected to the tv

Bump!! I have just found out that the speakers squeal if you move the volume over 50% anyone any ideas? Or is it best to go back to competitor with it

Interfering with an onboard mic on your laptop, which has poor reception, thus only working when sound is >50%?
