Speakers with USB output?

Anyone know of any PC speakers - basic 2.0 is okay - that have a USB headphone output socket on them?

Basically I have a set of USB headphones and I want a set of speakers where I can just plug in my USB headphones to the front of them to override them to headphone mode.

Doesn't seem like such a big deal really but all I can seem to find are 3.5mm front sockets, not USB.

Thanks

I think you'll have a hard time finding this.

Basically, USB headsets are actually a headset and soundcard all in one. This means that any speakers with USB will have to have the relevant software and drivers to make the soundcard bit of the USB headset work.

I'm not saying it's impossible to find, just that it's not as simple as you think.

Couldn't you set windows to intelligently switch speakers off when it detects the headphones? That way you could just run a usb extension for them over to wherever you want to plug them in, and use that instead of one incorporated into the speakers themselves.

*scratches head* I think you are over complicating things mate. On every system I have built, I have had some model of Soundblaster card that hook up the speakers via 3.5 jacks. I have always had USB headsets and whenever I plug my headset in to a socket on my PC, it mutes the speakers.

If you have a USB headset you just set it as the default aplication then when you plug it in it' takes priority over onboard.
