Don't have space for 5.1/7.1 so 2/2.1 will be fine.

Will be plugged into a Audidy 4 card.

I had some Logitech X-230 2.1 speakers and they were great

Yep, also consider Logitech Z-4 and JBL Creature 2

I would recommend JBL Creature II's, excellent 2.1 speakers.
