Spec £300 gaming!

My poor student friend is in dire need of a gaming upgrade as the laptop he's on currently dies when trying to run LoL, Qlive etc....sad times.

He's got an absolute max of £300.....quite the task. I've specced a few builds around FM2 - and the 5800K APU should give him a nice boost to say the least!

But it's always nice to get a second oppinion on these things, don't care if it's AMD or Intel, NV or AMD.

I'm donating a cooler and a case to the build and he has an operating system.

You could use a cheaper optical drive to get bang on £300. I'd use the A75 chipset for HDMI and the overclocking option.

Based on the budget I don't think running a dedicated card is feasable.

I'd agree with your judgment on the FM2 board/cpu and the performance would be reasonable. In the future he could add a cheap(ish) discrete card to run alongside Trinity to get better gaming performance.
