Hello,

Looking to order parts for my son`s first gaming PC ;)

Would a i5-4590 and either GTX 960 or R9 380 will be ok for 1080 gaming?

I don't need OS or peripherals, and I`m looking to spend £500 ish.

The CPU and GPU will be good for 1080

Something like this (I can't find any details on the GPU dimensions but it should fit in the case)

My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £507.19
(includes shipping: £12.30)

What games will he be playing?
You could just put in a G3258 for a big saving and can be overclocked (if you wanted to)

My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £426.55
(includes shipping: £11.70)

I have a similar setup currently.

ASUS H81-1 PLUS
i5 4460
8GB corsair ballistix
R9 380 4GB
600W PSU

Great for 1080p, plays all the latest games easy.

Thanks Bickaxe,

On his ps4 he plays Fallout 4, GTA V, Assassin's Creed & Dying Light etc. so it needs to be fairly beefy.

If that's the case don't discount an i3 build with a good GPU. For games it'll perform better than an i5 with a budget GPU.
