I'm looking to build a tower with a budget of roughly £500 and its going to be used for primarily internet browsing, word processing, spreadsheets and for managing music and photos. The current PC i've got has a AMD 1.6ghz single core processor and 512mb of DDR1 so rather out of date and its very much dying
I'm in no particular need for any high-end graphics card or sound card however my Dad has specified he wouldn't mind having the possibility to play Doom 3 or fairly old PC titles occasionally.
I'm basically looking for a powerful processor, 2gb DDR2 RAM and at least 300GB HD space for his music and photos. A processor with a good overclocking capacity would be great like an Intel C2duo or something. Sound and Graphics are not particularly high on my list of priorities.
Can anyone help me spec a PC for roughly £500 then? cheers
