Hi Guys,

Right the pump and block failure in my TT Kandalf has encouraged me to get a custom kit.

Can you guys spec me up something from bits that are in stock here.

Its going to go into the TT Kandalf case. 120x3 rad an such will fit fine.

So im just looking to cool the cpu a q6600 which is on an abit ip35-pro

Would like to have a filler tap as well to make life easier.

Cheers

Nice one matey,

Now is there a mounting kit to mount this on the back of the case?

Measured up the res on the front of the Kandalf and the above deffo wont fit lol.

Edit, is all of the above available here?

I just want to be able to order it all and get it out on a sat delivery.

N00b to water customer water cooling, so would need a complete shopping list.

Once again cheers

nice one CyZMyAssBaby,

Ok heres a little list i have so far. Gonna cost quite a bit lol

Sourced from all over the place now.

1 x EK Supreme Universal CPU Waterblock - Acetal 1/2"

1 x Laing DDC1+ 12V Ultra Pump with XSPC Delta Plexi Top 1/2"

1 x ThermoChill PA120.2 Dual Radiator now this is 3/8" can you get convertors??

1 x XSPC 5.25" Drive Bay Reservoir - Black again i need to get some 1/2" barbs for it??

2 x 12 mm (1/2'') Hose Connection G3/8 with O-ring for the above Drive bay res?? (guessing here)

2 meters of Tygon 1/2" (R3603) Tubing

Think that little lot should do me nicely?

Any additions removals?

Cheers

ok nice one dude,

how about the radiator though? its 3/8" fittings.

will 1/2" tubing fit ok ok? or will it spring a leak lol.

Cheers for your help.

Hey WJA,

Good to hear from you.

Could you help out then? Im a complete W/C noob hence having the Kandalf in the first place.

Looking to replace the lot with something thats going to keep the q6600 atdecent temps.

This is becoming a mission into territory i dont understand lol, Have no problems building the kit, i just want to make sure i have everything i would need.

Tempted just to say sod it and buy another kit, at least that way i would be sure it would have everything i would need.

is the Swiftech H20-220 Apex Ultra Watercooling Kit

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=WC-014-SW&groupid=701&catid=193&subcat=1038

Such a bad choice then? Its got to be better than the Kandalf crap surely??

Send the pics over matey, address is in my trust.

Many Thanks for the help so far guys.

hey WJA

The pump is this one

Model DDC-1T Pro
Manufacturer Laing
Motor Type Electronical Commuted Ball Engine
Max Head 3.7M
LPH 420LPH
Operating Voltage 12V
Power Input 10W
Connector Type 4 Pin Molex
RPM Sensor 3 Pin Connector

So thats the 10w version, would that be ok?

Right new shopping list is as follows :-

Comment welcome please.

1x D-Tek FuZion Universal CPU Waterblock 1/2"

1x ThermoChill PA120.2 Dual Radiator 1/2" barbs below

1x Swiftech MCRES Micro Reservoir (easy way to top up and bleed the system) 1/2"

1x Laing DDC-1T 12V Pro Pump with XSPC Delta Plexi Top 10w version 1/2"

4x 12 mm (1/2'') Hose Connection G3/8 with O-ring 2 for the rad 2 spares.

10x Nylon Hose Clamp for 1/2" Tubing - Blue

2 meters XSPC 1/2" High Flex Clear / UV Blue (Tubing)

2x Feser One UV Blue (transparent) Coolant 1 Lt

Is 2lts of coolant enough?

Would i also need a shroud for the radiator?

So what do you guys think?

Hey up,

Well to be honest i just want the res for ease of filling and such, I can mount it in an easy to get to location,

Also from what i gather its a good idea to have a res quite high up to aid in getting rid of air in the system.

Hey deadman,

Well the pump was getting a bit noisey, then just stopped lol.
First i knew of it all really was the pc kept shutting off.

So moved the pc onto my desktop and noticed a small air bubble in the tube by the waterblock, though wtf. touched the water block and burnt my hand!!

Bear in mind im running my q6600 at 3.9ghz with 1.7v in the bios 1.65v actual through it!! Thats why the pc kept shutting off when it reached a certain thermal point!!

Glad it did. Upon looking at the water block out of the case its slightly warped!! the plexi top is coming away from the block at the edges!! will try to get some pics over the weekend.

Well received all my h2o gear.

No barbs sent with the pump :(
Missing nozzle kit :(
and wrong extra barbs that i ordered, ordered 1/2" received 3/8"

Called them up and all bits barring the nozzle kits being shipped rm special d, will be here tomorrow :)

Case, Coolermast rc-1000 has also just arrived :D wow what can i say, its brilliant!!

Xenocrates,

All i can say is dont do it. The TT stuff is pants, thats what failed on me :(

Pro's yeah it is easy to setup as a first time kit.

Con's the pump failed, and a lot more could have gone wrong.
The case uses all non standard rads and such, so you cant even replace it with a custom kit at a later date, which was what i had intended to do.

Hey Predator,

Thats one nice setup!!

Im going to get a mountain mods ufo-2 once the other half and i have moved. Need the space. we share a study at the moment so not ideal lol.

V2000 is a very nice case, and thats a nice setup you have there :D

Well true to their word.

My Barbs for the pump and rad were here first thing this morning, stuck at work though now. And off on holiday as of thurs, So not sure if i will get any more building done tonite.

Managed to fit the rad and fans inside the cosmos :D looks smart as well. Will try to get some pics up tonite.
