I'm looking for a new keyboard and mouse to go with my newly built pc, I've usually only used cheap keyboards and mice but I'm looking for something nicer. I'll be using it for gaming too for playing mostly Star craft 2. And I'm willing to spend a maximum of £70 on both.

Thanks

I would recommend the G500 for the mouse :) sub £40 i think, as i havent really looked at it since i bought mine for £27 when they were on offer :D

Seeing as you wanted to not spend that much I'll go with:

YOUR BASKET
1 x Microsoft SideWinder X4 Gaming Keyboard - Retail (JQD-00006) £29.99
1 x Logitech MX518 Gaming-Grade Optical Mouse (910-000616) £23.99
Total : £64.48 (includes shipping : £8.75).

Shipping seems a bit mental though. It was about £10 for my entire system including case :/

Anyway the MX518 is pretty well regarded as the best budget mouse out there. It seems lately people have been suggesting other ones but you know you are getting a solid product with this. I think people are just trying to be different :p

As for the keyboard, it seems to have pretty good anti-ghosting and when I made my own 'Spec me a low priced keyboard" thread. A couple of people suggested that I save up a bit more (I only wanted to spend £20) and get the sidewinder. Also has Backlit keys and macro buttons.

Trust me, the mouse is worth the money, especially for SC2

You dont need a "gaming" keyboard, get a decent mouse by all means but just about the only thing I find useful about a gaming keyboard is that they have light up keys.

I found using my old office type keyboard for first person shooters incredibly annoying as if you run in a certain diagonal direction you couldn't reload or change weapon. I think at least some anti ghosting should be considered and the sidewinder claims to have it as well as anything else I would want from a keyboard not including being mechanical of course.

I use a microsoft digital media 3000, imo its more aesthetically pleasing than those pointy gaming boards and its never missed a beat.
