Hey folks,

Just thinking about certain pre built machines but just wondering what certain experienced members would spec given a budget of £1000.

Thanks and as always very appreciated :D

i'd recommend going for an i5 as you could get a better graphics card and balance the system out better , you dont have to if you would rather be on the 1366 socket tho.

dont require keyboard mice or anything just looking at the tower :) I also dont pay Vat as im from gibraltar so can factor that lil bit extra into cost :)

ok and heres the i5 :

Now that comes to 887 quid inc VAT and with the little bit left over you could :

Go for i7
Get a solid state harddrive
Get a 5870
Keep the 5850 and upgrade to xfire 5850's at a later date
go for two 5770's instead of the 5850 (costs the same or very close but slightly better performance)

This also leaves room for a monitor or keyboard/mouse/mousepad/headset

Could you post your order please once you are done. I too am interest in purchasing a pc of similar of similar value and would like to know what you decided on.

hey mate didnt realise you had the other thread on the run too, so ill post here anyway:

cool set of gear there but there are alternatives.
have you possibly considered getting
a set of individual pieces and making it yourself?
relatively speaking its not much cheaper.
low and behold though you will come out
eventually with a greater sense of satisfaction
s’up to you though if you can put in the time

Also I was wondering if you need such a
versatile processor. The I7s are very good at
everything, but if you are primarily a gamer
let your money be spent elsewhere
like on a much better graphics card which
at the end of the day will be a lot more
noticeable to you end game performance.
Ole and good luck with whatever your choice.
