Hi,

The only game my bro plays is Pro Evo and with 2008 being the latest, he would like to play it with image settings maxed out on his 17 inch TFT.

I've been out the loop at bit but I'm thinking...

E6600
Asus P5K - will the SE version suffice?
Corsair 2GB DDR2 XMS2-6400C5 TwinX
Graphics card - 8600GT/8800GT?

Can someone please advise on the above choices further? No overclocking will be done. My bro just needs a stable computer that will run Pro Evo 2008 on max settings. Need to keep the cost low though.

Thanks. :)

The E6600 is a waste ATM unless you're buying second-hand. They're priced higher than chips that are significantly faster, such as the E6750. You could save on the RAM as well. Any bargain-basement PC2-5300 kit will do the trick just as well as fancier stuff.

What's your budget?

If there is to be no overclocking then I'd go for something like this but if your brother is willing to do a bit of overclocking and needs to save cash then I'd save about £65 and go for the E2180. Are these the only parts needed?

Sorry for late reply guys.

Eventually settled for...

E6750
Abit IP-35
Leadtek 8800GT
Corsair 2GB
Enermax 485W

System is stable and all games run well. Bro is well chuffed and says it's a major relief from his XP2200+ system that crawled to a halt or crashed regularly (though this was partly due to the fact the insides were never cleaned from dust for 4/5 years straight!).

Thanks once again! :D
