A friend of mine has £1000 max to spend on a new rig. It must include a 21" or bigger monitor. The rig will be used for gaming, must be upgradable in the future, he will not be overclocking the system.

Ideas are welcome :D

Didnt think it was worth i7 as op said he wasnt overclocking. Defo wont need the cooler, just get the retail version and save a few £'s if going i7.
 
the i7 still walks over that cpu on stock :D

if hes not overclokcing doesnt mean theres not need for a 3rd party cooler :D

just ensures his chip runs lower even when the case is suffocated with dust:D

However the cooler is Out of Stock. Can anyone recommend a different cooler? Just noticed the monitor is too, any other suggestions? Apart from those 2 small issues does the above spec seem ok?
