This is going to be my first time building a PC, so
I was wondering If these specs will work with each other. I'm going to use it mainly for gaming and to make animations with 3ds max.

That spec looks good mate. Just a few suggestions; not used that HDD, but from the spcecs it looks like it is not that much better than a Samsung F3 which is a lot cheaper. Also if you are still in education or are related to someone who is, you can get Windows 7 Pro for about £40 from Software4Students. With them savings you will be able to beef up your gfx to some like this.
 
Excellent, thank you. I've now changed the HDD to the Samsung F3.
Unfortunately, I left education last year so the Software4Students won't apply to me. However, I think one of my family members is still in college ... I'll have to check.

No prob! :) Also just noticed that the CPU cooler you have chosen is not compatible with the CPU. Something like this is, and is popular with overclockers. You need to look out for ones with the Socket 1366. If you are willing to spend £69 then this would be ideal. :)
 
I decided to go with the Prolimatech Megahalems Rev B CPU Cooler to save a few £'s.
