Hi people, Long time since i've posted on here.
Right i'm looking to upgrade my PC. Current PC is core 2 duo 6320 on an intel D946gzis matx board. 4gb dd2 800 ram, various hdd's and dvd-rw and graphics is a 7800gtx, 512mb i think but could be 256.
I use my pc for gaming, and as a media server/file storage. I also use Adobe CS5 apps, mainly photoshop, dreamweaver and indesign.
Ideally i'd like to be able to add more hdd's, currently got 4x sata connectors, but would also like to go to an intel ich10 controller if possible.
I've been toying with either upgrading the mobo but keeping current cpu, so I can get more sata connectors, or going for a core i5 if possible.
Budget is around £350-400, maybe stretch a bit more if its needed. After either mobo if keeping current cpu, or mobo+cpu+ram if I5 route. Could maybe possibly upgrade current cpu to a quad core 775 socket. As I said been out of here a while and current system is one I was given, and it's not slow, but just ran out of sata connectors.
And one last requirement is gigabit lan, I send files to multiple NAS, and laptops at the same time and 100mbp/s is limiting me at moment!
All ideas greatfully received.
