Ok could the people with the knowledge let me know if this spec is the best i can get for my budget and are there any glaring compatability errors e.t.c, also i will be overclocking the cpu, or at least trying to, so are the bits good for overclocking too.

Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 1.86ghz CPU
Artic cooling freezer 7 Pro CPU Cooler
Gigabyte GA_965P_DS4 (Socket 775) DDR2 Mobo
GeiL 2Gig Matched Pair PC5300 667Mhz DDR2 Ram
Hiper HPU-4K580-MK Type R 580Watt Modular PSU
Seagate Barracuda 160Gig Sata HardDrive
Creative SE 7.1 Sound Card
NEC AD7170A 18x18 DVD RW
Thermaltake Soprano Case

As for Graphics card, im torn between three cards:
OcUK MSI GeForce 7900 GTO 512mb - £180.94
Sapphire ATI Radeon X1900 XT 512mb - £246.74
Sapphire ATI Radeon X1900 XTX 512mb - £252.61

Im not sure wether to go for the cheapest option being the 7900GTO or to spend the extra £70 on the X1900XTX (Difference shown here, http://www.gpureview.com/show_cards.php?card1=378&card2=459) The only differences i can notice are 115mhz in memory speed and double the pipelines. So i cant see that its worth the extra, but let me know your views.

Cheers.

Looks good mate but i`m sure an X1900XT will do ya?unsure if the memory is ok with that mobo ask in the memory section it should be as G-skill was the only one having problems AFAIK :)

ok i will do, erm there is only £6 difference between the XT and XTX so the xtx is by far the better buy of the two, although the 7900GTO seems an even better buy for bang per pound :)

hmm, i was recommended this mobo when i asked for a sli board (socket 775)...So if your correct then i cant run two g/c cards in sli? i thought this board had two x16 slots for true sli?

Someone please verify, and if it is x16 and a x4, then whats a good mobo for the spec im thinking, prefereably the same price range and a true sli board 2 x 16 slots. Cheers.

Not gonna get a true 2x 16pci-e for under £120 afaik. The 965's can do crossfire in software, but not worth the extra cash outlay for the second card though. Afaik only 975's and only some of them can do 2x 16pci-e.

Maybe just get a DS3, its not worth having SLI/Crossfire now tbh. Its best to just get a single card then when DX10 cards come out consider selling your card and getting one of them, as they will run faster than 2 cards in sli/xfire anyway.
If your gonna get the ATI then get the XTX its like £6 mores and packs a bigger punch.
I would get the ATI, i dont like the 7900 GTO but it all depends on what res your running if its low then the GTO will do fine *for now* if higher then the XTX will be the better choice.
ATI are beating Nvidia on all its equiviilant GPU's at the moment (7950GX2's not included ^^)
