I'm looking for a spec for between £700-£800 as a birthday present for my girlfriend, it has to include everything (OS included) other than a mouse/keyboard/monitor whilst being as quiet as possible.
Mainly used for gaming and photoshop, its been over 3 years since I built and overclocked my own machine, I've lost track of hardware configs and compatability issues since then, I really would apreiciate some help on this one. I am looking through the rigs on the forums and swapping bits and bobs but just wanted a benchmark to work from.

Gone with a bigger PSU incase of overclocking & maybe another optical/HD at a later date, also gonna re-use existing XP OS (was gonna go Vista).
Anyone see any probs with the above?

Cheers!

You can get a 400gig 16meg cache HD for the same price.

Might also want to consider getting a Soundblaster X-Fi Extreme Gamer (£47) as this will almost certainly be better than onboard sound for gaming and music.

That PSU is OTT considering its been shown to run a system with 2 8800 GTX's (SLi) & several HDs. The 520W version will work fine with that spec.

Rest looks ok ;)
