Hello

I am looking for low cost build, due to the recent death of one of my boxes.

There is no HW which is recoverable from this as it all been re-distributed else where.

It is used for Internet, old school games (eg Sim City) and some media playing.

No need for an OS as the PC which died did have a copy of Media Centre on it.

Being able to upgrade in the future would be a plus but not top prority.

Would a budget of £200 be unrealistic???

Thanks

I'm presuming you dont need a monitor lol. But what about other bits.... keyboard, mouse.... speakers and the like? You ok with onboard graphics? or want a low budget option?

No monitor, speakers, keyboard and mouse required.

A seperate GFX card would be better, also allow for upgrading later if required, but a suppose onboard GFX would allow the games to play, all but at poor resolution.

Just had a quick play, assuming you already have a screen. Still ever so slightly over. What you can get for a couple of hundred now is scary compared to six months ago. No idea what the motherboard is like to be fair, just the chose the cheapest i could to try and squeeze in the budget. Also a cheapo 80gb hard drive from B grade. Alright case though. Stick in an e6120 (edit: whoops i meant e2140) for another 15 quid or so though.

Shout when it turns out i've forgotten something.

No HDD though :(

Both of the above are better than what i would have come up with, although if you were to put an extra £100 in then you could get a much more capable machine for the bit extra.

If you are sticking to £200 though like i said those specs above are spot on :)
