As the title suggests looking to build a of for a friend but could do with your guys expertise :)

He's looking for the tower only wishing his budget, and he also needs a network adaptor and the os included.

He's also wanting to just use a single 250gb ssd on its own if possible

Thanks in advance :D

Would it be worth him getting a 480 instead of the 1070 for 1080p gaming , and maybe a better processor ? Not kept up to date with new cards so unsure what's best option ?

The 1070 is considerably faster than the 480, the 480 is roughly comparable to a 1060/970.

He would be a little bit CPU limited at 1080p with the 6400/1070, depending on the game. But I still think that set up would run games better than an i7 and a 480/1060.

970 is more than enough for 1080 gaming and is currently cheaper & slightly faster than the AMD 480.
Overclocked bundle comes with 16GB of RAM, after market cooler etc.
Better case & power supply.

The Dynamode wireless USB adapter has been working fine in my bro's rig for a year.

RAM - The top part of the heatsink can be unscrewed and removed in case a stick needs more clearance to fit with the cooler.

Windows - Borrow a DVD writer for install, or download (from Microsoft website) the Win 10 ISO onto a USB flash drive, and just enter the key on the DVD when prompted during install.

Just going to say one thing.

Use power line adapters rather than WiFi.

In gaming especially anything requiring fast action and twitch firing such as BF4 you will get owned if you use WiFi.

The latency just sucks hard.
