Hi i usually help out with spec chekcs on here but thought id see what people had in mind for a friend of mine, he wants to go intel so i suggested the sabertooth, i7 950 and the corsair vengance.
he already has a case i sold him, the cm storm scout and hes buying my asus 5850 direct cu from me too. He usually plays games like lfd2, killing floor, cs:s, mw2 and bfbc2 etc. he is also doing a media course and does video editing and 3d modelling/rendering.
im wondering if it would be cheaper/better for him to get amd 6 core over the i7 set up. it could possibly save him well over £100 if he does, and would the performance hit really be that bad?
