Guys.

Thinking about building my first mini itx build.

It would be used solely for xbmc, normal file it would play are 1080p 10gig MKv bluray rips, along with the odd sd movie.

I was thinking of the below. On iPad so don't have the Addon.

Ssd will be only used for operating system and my music/pictures.

External nas and separate USB drive will be storage for all my movies...

I have a remote with keyboard...

Trying to think if I need anything else.

Also would the power supply in the case be ok for the motherboard and onboard gpu?
obviously I would like it as silent as possible, so if another cooler needed, what one would you recommend?

What op /xmbc version would you recommend, I am using raspbmc just now and the pi just isn't up to the job I'm afraid.

Thanks

Looks interesting, I kind of fancy the look of this for a cheap HTPC build myself.
But in the mobo description what does this mean?

Storage Interface: 4 x SATA 3Gb/s connectors supporting up to 4 SATA 6Gb/s devices

Edit: That case PSU should be fine as the E-350 only has an 18W TDP & that includes the GPU too.

Had a good look around mate!

The three you linked are at least £80 more than the parts I put up!

Trying to keep it as cheap as possible!

Also thinking about the Revo L70...

Any thoughts on that?

I can get the Revo L70 for £180 with no OS on it, then fire on OpenElec XBMC!

Just need to know if the L70 will be powerful enough to take care of everything I throw at it, ie, 1080p 10 - 20 gig mkv files!

Another question!

When it states barebones, what exactly is missing?

For example...

The L70 should run 1080p full rips with no issues as all. It uses the e450 which is just ever so slightly quicker then the e350. I have a similar spec to what you originally listed and it handles anything I through at it. Including 50gb blu ray ISOs

The Foxconn system you linked to should also be fine. Barebones means its just missing the memory and hard drive, which if you are using OpenELEC you wont need as you can just use a thumb drive.

Really liked the look of this but its still not out and should have come out a couple of months ago
