Spec Check (£500, base unit only)

Hi,

I’ve been asked to build a system for a friend, who has a budget of £500, but already has a monitor, mouse, keyboard and Vista Home Premium.

I’m going to try and build him the best I can (obviously), he’s going to buy my 8800GTS 640 for £150 so that leaves £350 (I know £150 is a little over the odds but I’m viewing that as a tip, he wanted to pay me £50 but I said if he bought my graphics card for £150 that would cover it…)

I’ve had a go myself and gone a little over budget, the only thing I’d like is a motherboard that can handle 4GB of RAM (I had lots of fun and games trying to get mine to boot with 4GB!).

Any help appreciated (I could probably persuade him to go a little over budget so there is a little room)
