need to upgrade my computer!

I need;

CPU
MOBO
GFX CARD
MEMORY
CASE
HARD DRIVE
PSU(probably?)

Primarily gaming machine of course, I have everything else I'd need. Budget of around £800. I've completely lost touch of hardware these days so I'm unsure what bits work well with what so I need your help fellas. Are my needs totally out of touch with my budget?

I currently have,

AMD 3000
DFI LanParty Mobo
GEFORCE 6800GT
1gig **** memory(2x 512mb)
awful hd
awful case

Don't swear. Read the FAQs. FF.

a bit over ya budget but would be a nice system, the cpu will go to fx60 speeds without massive hassle and the x1800 should keep ya going for a while, i chose the dfi board as you should know your way around one, which will help your overclocking

I agree with Turbotoaster with the exception of the HDD. Maxtors are completely unreliable. Both of mine failed on me after a year and I have repleced 5 already this year in friends and family's PC's, AVOID like the great plague itself.

Also if you aren't clocking, the DFI mobo is a waste of money go for something like the MSI Neo4 or the Asus A8N

I'm not an overclocking fanatic in all honesty, I wouldn't miss being able to overclock as long as I would never need to(at least not right away) performance wise. Is it worth spening a lot on a good case these days?

Asus A8R-MVP Crossfire (Socket 939) PCI-Express Motherboard (MB-129-AS)
Price: £64.95 (£76.32 Including VAT at 17.5%)
Western Digital Caviar SE16 250GB 2500KS SATA-II 16MB Cache - OEM (HD-046-WD)
Price: £55.50 (£65.21 Including VAT at 17.5%)

that knocks off about £16 off ya bill, also covers you if you ever want a crossfire setup, not the best board for clocking but it will do over 335fsb and 1.48v for dual core incase ya want to learn overclocking
