Looking to upgrade my old Q6600 system for playing games and doing video and photo work. This is what I've come up with, I plan on doing an overclock too.

I already have a screen, KB/Mouse, OS and several HDDs, just adding an SSD for the OS.

I assume you will be taking a HDD out of your old Q6600 machine for storage? What size is it/is it SATA?

Fail, didn't see this

Considered getting a 'Black Edition' of that motherboard so you get the 5 years warranty and upgrade in 3 years time?

Quite like the sound of that, really like the Phanteks cases. Would I be able to overclock the Inno3D card to the same level as the Galax one?

Also how do you do that spec summary, I've noticed lots of people do it but never worked out how!

I haven't heard great things about the Inno 3D cooler I know people were receiving unseated coolers (Which I believe has been fixed now) but also it's cooling is weak in comparison with alternatives similarly priced.

Shame the GPU's have risen in price, I managed to buy my MSI 970 GTx for £265 which is now up for £299.

Best card for OC potential is the Gigabyte G1 with it's impressive cooler and correct me If I'm wrong but has the highest power limit of most/all the 970 cards allowing you to push those clock speeds.

The Windforce looks a great call with it's impressive 3 fan cooler but obviously make sure it will fit the case of choice. http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-149-GI&groupid=701&catid=1914&subcat=1010 also with a 3 Year warranty over the 2 years Inno 3D and Galax offer.

Also you would have to double check this but I hear Gigabyte's RMA service is UK based or if not still a better experience.

I think the best 970 is probably the Infinity you chose, zero coil whine guarantee, OcUK RMA terms etc etc

Very nice card it seems. :)
