Just a quick rundown to brush by you guys to see if any improvements can be made with this spec... I'll be using this machine to web surf, PhotoShop and games at a resolution of 1680x1050.
I mainly play FPS and RTS games, and need a rig that will run C&C3 nicely when released. A bit of Alan Wake and UT2007 would be awesome too, if you know what I mean.
I will be doing a spot of overclocking - 3GHz is the target for my chip. Nothing hardcore.
Spec:
Intel Core2 Duo E6600 2.4GHz
Abit AW9D-MAX Motherboard
Corsair DDR2 6400 C4 2GB
GeCube Radeon X1950Pro 512MB (possibly another one at a later date, or maybe an R600/G80 if required)
Seasonic M12 600Watt Modular PSU
Creative SoundBlaster X-Fi
Seagate Barracuda 200GB 7200.10 (for storage)
Tuniq Tower 120 Heatsink
All this will be partenered with a Lian Li V1000 Plus in silver, Logitech G7, pair of DVD drives and a pair of 74GB Raptors, of which I will RAID. I already have this from my previous rig.
I do not need keyboard, speakers or monitor, budget is set at around £1K.
