Hi, just saw Mr.Bon's post before posting and saw that the components were simlar in choice to what my cousin is looking to build but thought this post also has some merit :).

My cousin is looking to build a Q6600 PC for 3D, graphics and web work. He wants to overclock the CPU and wants an SLi setup. The two hard drives may or may not be in a RAID setup but he would like the option either way as a result there are two samsungs, either RAID them or use one as an os/installation drive and the other for files/storage.

I wasn't too sure on which motherboard to recommend, most of the specs are similar to one of OcUKs own Overclocked rigs. Any comments, recommendations, improvements, would be gratefully welcomed!

I wouldn't spend £225 on graphics cards when there are new cards out next month.

Other than that, it looks good.

Are both Nvidia and ATi bringing out new cards? I had a recommendation to consider Crossfire in another of my posts regarding the motherboard so will have to think about that as well, as the prices as a few of the parts are on 'this week only' offers :)

Are there any model numbers of cards that you have in mind that may be equal or better than 2 8800gt in sli; either single cards or crossfire/sli?

Nvidia are releasing new top-end cards (GTX260 and GTX280) on the 18th of june, they're going to cost a lot.

Ati are releasing mid-range cards on the 16th of june. I think that, at the very least, current prices will drop. The new ati cards may be a viable alternative to the 8800GT, which is the current daddy of bang/buck.
