Just need a quick spec check on this, pretty sure it's all good though. :)

As per my sig I'm planning to build a LGA2011 based system once it's released later this year/early 2012, in the meantime I've been getting by on an old (2007) macbook, however it's on it's deathbed and could completely die anytime soon!

So, I'm looking to replace it with a very basic system, I don't need a case, monitor, keyboard & mouse, hard drive or OS, just need CPU, Mobo, PSU, ram and optical drive (even though I'll use it once for installing windows and probably never use it again!) :)

Looking at going with an i3 2100, will use the integrated graphics for the time being, going this route rather than super cheap (1155 pentium/AMD) gives me the option of adding a 1GB GTX 460 in a month or 2 which would let me play BF3 at medium settings (roughly) until I can build my new rig.

Don't want to spend more than £250-300 max. Gone for the 500w corsair rather than the 430w as I'll want to add the GTX 460 later, I think 430w would be pushing it and the 430w only has 1 6-pin pci-e connector (500w has 2 6+2-pin connectors), the 460 needs 2.

Once I build my new rig I'll probably chuck these bits into a HTPC case or similar, or may just sell them on, also depending on when Nvidia release the next gen of graphics cards I may use the GTX 460 from this and add another for SLI in the new rig until the new cards are released.

Cheers guys, so just to clarify I can run higher than 1333Mhz ram, I presume the board will just run 1600Mhz @ 1333Mhz? Never been to hot on ram speed/timings etc :D

yep, the board will run the RAM at 1133Mhz with no problem whatsoever. my own RAM is 1600Mhz and its been happily running it at 1333Mhz for the past 5 months or so because i'm just too damned lazy to change it
