Hey guys, just wondering if you'd be able to have a quick look over this build for me.

I've never spent this much on a PC before so just want to be doubley sure it will all fit together and work nicely :)

What is the system going to used for?

RAM seems slightly on the expensive side - in saying that it looks like the norm!! :D

It's hard to justify spending £239.99 on RAM alone, especially if your system is intended for gaming. I'd personally opt for 8GB of RAM, which is more than sufficient, and put what you save towards a better GPU. (Which matters most as far as gaming is concerned.)

The rig will be used for gaming, but i'm a game artist so also 3d applications, video editing software, photoshop and lots of other memory intensive programs.

I currently have 8gb and run out of memory all the time with the programs I use, so quadrupling this doesn't seem too crazy to me.

The OS and apps will take a chunk of that 8gb. 16gb is likely to be enough, especially with current memory prices. You can always get another 16gb if you do find things slow down.

what dual channel 16GB kit would you recommend, with the intention to buy another in the future?

Also are quad channel kits just 2xdual channel kits or do they work better when bought as a quad?

Fair enough..

if you really need 32gb id start looking at the 2011 socket a 3820.

Will work out a bit more expensive.. Id stick with the 300r too. :)

just bumping this as I'm going to order it soon and want to hear your opinions on this ram kit. It seems like a no brainer paying £10 to go from PC3-17000 to PC3-19200 right?

Sexiness, well I've swapped the plextor ssd for the m4, and I think I'm going to go with these babys.

They're slightly faster than the ones you said teppic and only £10 more. Let me know if you think this is a sensible decision, then i'm gonna this thing already :D

Looks good, the Beast RAM is very well reviewed, even though the they like the elephant man..

Or you could get two sets of these for £120: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-032-TG&groupid=701&catid=8&subcat=1387

That's if your only getting 16GB
