Just going to be ordering some new bits and wanted to double check :-

EPIC BUNDLE: Intel 4790K, Gigabyte Z97X-Gaming 7, Kingston 16GB 2400MHz Kit, Superflower 750W PSU & FREE STUFF!! **£50 SAVING**

Powercolor Radeon R9 290 PCS+ OC 4096MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card with FREE AMD 8GB 2400MHz Memory Kit

Crucial MX100 256GB SATA 2.5” 7mm SSD + 9.5mm Adapter (CT256MX100SSD1)

Corsair Hydro H100i CPU Cooler *Manufacturer Refurbished Unit - 1 Year Warranty

Antec P100 Mid Tower Silenced Computing Case

I'm going to be running Windows 8.1 on this build so apart from maybe the Hydro Cooler having a software issue what does the rest of it compare too? Also what is the Radeon R9 290 like compared to the nVidia 780?

Thanks

Get the R9 290, pretty much on par with the 780, extra 1GB VRAM and it's cheaper. That PCS one you chose is a good shout I believe

I suggest the Antec 1250 as there's no Windows 8.1 software issues with those, the H100i uses the corsair link software, the 1250 doesn't have that problem

Otherwise that looks good!

Might want to check the amount of RAM you'll be getting - you get 8gb free with the GPU and another 16gb with the motherboard bundle.

R9 290 and 780 (standard) are pretty much equivalent cards, as Shivy says. Some games show a preference for one over the other but it's usually a minor difference. The 290s suffered initially due to poor a reference cooler design but that issue has largely gone now with the third party cooling solutions on most of the cards. Some people have experienced driver issues with theirs but mine has been rock solid.

The free offer has gone now from the powercolor cards (I think) :( Doesn't show on the pages at least

Fail, was checking the 280X not the 290

Possibly go with a cheaper mobo/CPU/PSU bundle as what ExRayTed said is that you'll end up with like 24GB RAM which won't play happy
