Would appreciate some feedback on my "final" spec, before ordering :p

I know it is missing a SSD, but I want to hold off with that purchase until they have sorted out the problems with Sandforce, so this spec just includes my storage drive. It's also missing a soundcard as I already have a Xonar DX that should do the job.

Will you be upgrading some of the hardware in the future? like going xfire or anything along those lines?

If yes then you might want to re-think that PSU ;)

Looks good by the way

cheers for the replies, I do have a bit of a downloading problem so the more space the better, it's only a few quid difference between 1tb and 2tb!

I have no plans for xfire etc in the near future, I'm not really a hardcore gamer so I think I'll take advantage of the Antec deal :D

The only thing is that the 2TB drives spin at 5400RPM and so are slower than the usual 7200RPM HDDs. Have you got an old old 7200RPM SATA drive you could put your OS on for a bit until you get an SSD?

Yeah looks good generally.

Given your motherboard can do Xfire, if you will head down road it'll be worth considering a slightly more powerful psu now. Adding another 6950 in a year or two would be a nice upgrade path if some games are struggling.

Weren't there some issues with these cards being able to flash to a 6970. Would be tempted to go for a reference rev. 1 6950.

Adding SSD will complete this system nicely as you say.

yea I have a 500gb 7200rpm sata drive I can stick the OS on until the SSD problems are resolved, fancied the eco drive for storage since it just sits there doing nothing most the time!

I think I'll just get the Antec then if I decide to go xfire in the future I'll just sell it on and get something more powerful.

In a shocking last minute change of heart I've swapped the case for the Silverstone FT-01B-W :O

Woohoo
