Hi,

I'm about ready to order for the first time in far too long and just wanted to check I've not picked anything blatantly incompatible or inferior. I'm going to be coding, running a vm or two, and maybe some light gaming. I'd like it to be quite quiet but doesn't have to be completely silent. Not looking to overclock.

Is there any big difference between the Core i7-4771 and the Core i7-4770? They were the same price so I added the 4771.

The only thing I would changeis the gpu brand.
I'd go for Sapphire 270x Toxic. A few friends purchased it recently and they all love it.
Maybe it's just personal preference.

I have the Powercolor Radeon R9 270X DEVIL myself and i have been very impressed cant go wrong with it and you get 3 free things with it, the 2 games and the mouse pad and can handle anything plus for the price it cost you can always add another in the future for future proof. - highly recon it!

Thanks Danny75, good call on the memory, I'd missed spotting that set.

I've been thinking about going for a 2TB drive, but I've also got a 500GB in my current rig I might re-use for backups. Long term I plan to add a NAS as well so it's a bit of a stop-gap.

I've no strong feelings on the graphics card, but there's so much choice I don't want to spend too much time dwelling on it. pipson, Bart_hunt, thanks for your comments, it's really helpful to hear personal experiences.

As no-one's picked up on the question, I'm guessing there's no real difference in the CPU's I mentioned, so for the same money I may as well go for the faster one.
