1st off, to spend essentially 20-25% of the budget on a case is just crazy, esp when the budget is just £275 lol. so, i've opted for a cheaper case
next the athlon x4 cpu isnt that great. i've chosen a pentium instead, this should be better for games and in general
went for a better psu instead of the corsair psu
specced a hybrid sshd with the rest of the budget. its not as good as a ssd+hdd combo, but much much faster for frequently used programmes, say 70% of the benefit of ssds.

edit: if you can source the os from elsewhere (as above mentioned) this would be a much better choice

Personally i prefer the athlon to the pentium. I will be changing the case though, there is cheaper out there. But, i need one big enough to fit the ati 5870 in, the card is huge.
