So to bridge the gap between the router and the master socket i'm thinking of getting a long rj11 cable and plugging it straight into the master socket via filtered faceplate. But I want to know if there is a specific sort of cable that I should get that will be most resilient to noise etc. If you guys could check over my choice and say if it's any good:

If there's anything better please feel free to correct it.

Cheers

If you're ever thinking of going FTTC then a vdsl faceplate would be better I think as it's the newer version and also covers adsl.

Going to be doing similar soon but am going to fit router close to master socket as that seems to be what is recommended and then run a cable to the loft and down into a type of airing cupboard where I'm going to have the switch.

I would imagine the router's switch if it has 4 ports on would also be best to run directly from for a main pc that's used for gaming. This is what I'm planning on and then taking the rest of the connections down from the switch in airing cupboard. Also leaving one port on the router free in case of FTTC later.

I don't think we're going to go VDSL in this house, not going to be here long enough for it to come around. But i have changed my mind and decided to order the XTE-2005 Master Faceplate and a 10m rj11 cable from adslnation
