Spec check for a friend please?

Put together a rig with that GPU last week. Cracking card.

Did run into a spot of trouble with an Asus Z97 motherboard and 4x4GB RAM. Crashes due to not enough system agent voltage for RAM. OcUK will likely take care of that with voltage tweaks if needed, but if you'd like a better chance of the BIOS being as close to default as possible, I would advise 2x8GB sticks. And why not go for faster speed than 1600MHz? Just curious.

I would change the SSD to a better model. That Kingston model no longer has the same speed as it did upon release. They altered its makeup. Samsung 840 EVO would be my choice. Rapid Mode in Samsung Magician will make good use of the amount of RAM your friend will have.

I'd get a Crucial MX100 256GB instead, better value really and the performance difference you wont *really* notice (I have an Evo and 2 MX100s but cannot tell the difference), but the Samsung Evo drives are really excellent too.

Looking at it, the PC seems to be gaming-geared - go with 8GB RAM unless you have a specific need, 8GB is more than enough for gaming at this time (however 16GB is better for video editing, rendering etc so probably a good idea to go with 16GB for the future)

Also, this is a better/similar mobo combo from Gigabyte, who have excellent boards and more importantly, UK RMA as a pose to Asus's poor effort of their RMA system

Also I don't think that case is that excellent either, a recommended silent-optimised case is the Antec P100
