Spec Check for my upgradfe - 295x2

Hello,

Wonder if I could just check my thinking on this.

I am looking to buy the XFX 295x2: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-225-XF

I will need to upgrade my PSU and was wondering if this was strong enough: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-233-SV

I will also have 2 x ssd , i5 2500 o/c and various fans.

Really appreciate any advice.

Should be perfectly fine, I'm running the same card on an old 750w but it's capable of outputting 900w at a push.

This is the moment when I show you my totally dumb face, embarrassed but dumb.

The PSu has that and that is enough to power the GPU??? *dumb face*

Well just as a hint what you would normally do is go to AMD's page look up the GPU specifications and find out how much power draw it requires. It will tell you in (A)mps then you look at how much your 12v rail(s) provide on the PSU if its higher than the GPU spec chances are the PSU is more than fine......;) In this case its more than fine. :)

Thanks, I did just that and learnt a bit in the process - been so long since I did anything like this - sure it used to be simpler. just a case of picking ac ard and plugging it in. lol
