spec check for new build - 60W?

I have a Shuttle X27 that needs replacing. If I keep the case, does anyone know if the 60W external power supply is going to enough for:

Gigabyte Z97N-WIFI Intel Z97 (Socket 1150) DDR3 Mini ITX Motherboard
TeamGroup Vulcan GOLD 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (TLYD38G1600HC9DC01)
Intel Pentium K Anniversary G3258 Socket LGA1150 Processor - Retail

I assume the stock cooler won't fit so will get this too
Raijintek Zelos Low Profile CPU Cooler

Or is it a no go? In which case I'll probably just abandon the idea of squeezing into a tiny case and go for something slightly larger with nice features.

It's just a general purpose computer: browsing, streaming/listening to music, coding and occasional work. Is that CPU OK or would a cheap i3 handle multitasking better? Needs DisplayPort too.

I highly doubt it would be OK. It would be incredibly tight for power. Borderline at best!

If you go for it just make sure you don't run any stress tests, and don't overclock that CPU. :p
 
I thought that would be the answer. I don't think I'll risk it, I'd only be worried about overdoing it.

So, bigger PSU + case then.

Hadron Air looks great, dimensions are perfect but would be overkill if I'm not planning to put a graphics card in it, plus that would make it unnecessarily expensive. BitFenix Phenom also looks good but the size is creeping up a bit.

Is there anything else out there like a Hadron Air or a smaller Phenom?
 
anything else... fractal node 304, any of the smaller silverstone sugo's, then theres a load of small form factor lian li's too
 
Check out gigabyte offiical site. Every motherboard has at least 2 pics, overall and i/o ports.

z97n-wifi has two hdmi ports (doesnt have displayport)
 
Too late now but I would have probably of got the Silverstone Petit PT09 in the end of line clearance section for £50 with 120W PSU included. At least the Hadron will be more versatile in the long run.

For comparison my Core i5-4570S with Radeon 6850 took around 145W gaming in Farcry 3, 55W at desktop. With one SSD, no optical drive, 8GB PC12800 RAM, USB keyboard and mouse, 3.5mm jack headset on a 300W PSU.

These figures were obtained using a wall socket power meter so not sure how accurate. Not got any other figures written down.

:eek: Why didn't I see this before. I spent ages trawling through the OcUK cases page but this one was tucked away in the clearance isle. Would have been perfect. As you say the Hadron will be versatile, it will probably eventually replace my main PC as I upgrade it.

And thanks for the power info, that's really helpful. I've also got a wall socket meter so will be a fairly decent comparison.
