Hi all,

Id be very greatfull for any advice on the following specification. I am totally bemused by the shear number of graphics cards, can i do much better for a few more lolly? if if anyone thinks i can better the spec in anyway id be very greatfull. I have approx £800 to spend.

Also I need a new monitor, approx £200 to spend if anyone has any recommendations?

What are those mobos like? they seem very cheap, either good bargins or something is missing lol.

Personaly id take billys spec. Put 4x1gb of ocz ram in instead for like an extra 2 quid as it gives you the ability to go for say 850mhz if thats what your cpu overclock requires as sometimes you need to go abit above stock speeds, although mine is currently a bit bellow. At 22" resolution is the difference between a GTS and a GT worth it? not really paid attenchen to graphics cards since just after the release of the GTS tbh. Really gone out the loop recently. Been busy :(

And also the case is great for cooling but be warned it does suck up dust like a dyson.

You can get motherboards for £30 even, they don't have anything missing and perform just as well. The components just aren't as high quality thats all. £65 is more than enough for a motherboard, more than that and your just paying for the brand name.

Thanks everyone for the advice, I think i wll look into going with Billys spec unless anyone has any other ideas?

I went for the bundle purly because I am amature at overclocking and thought it would make life easier. Id obviously much prefer a better spec machine though for my money.

Dave, you said it sucks up dust like a dyson - im not too worried about what the case looks like, my only concern was wheter everything would fit! I noticed all OCUK's pre built computers use this case. You recommend any others?

I love the Lian-Li PC-60 PLUS II (overclocks sell the PLUS II but just haveput put it up as the PLUS instead but i ordered mine from there and i got the PLUS II). Air comes in from the back and the front and out thrugh the side and top. Makes for a good cooling set up indeed with air blowing directly into my heatsink and then out through the top. My q6600 is idle at 34-39 degres accros the 4 cores at 3.5ghz. Cant remeber load temps but i think thats pritty low indeed.

However because of its rather stylish look it uses aluminum brushed bezels as well which cost extra and you have to put them over the optical drive bay. Its very easy to do but it is an extra cost over the case cost.

The Antec p182 is very nice as well. i dont think you really need the coolign of the Antec 900 and with the amount of dust it picks up i wouldn't choose it personaly.

I beleive everything will fit in but its a very tight squeese.

:EDIT:

You say you are gettign water cooling? then you really want a big case with just a few fans which is quite. You dont want a Antec 900. Youll have a hard time with the water cooling fiting in there. The P182 has 2 holds uin the back for allowing you to attach the raditor to the back and put the tubes through the holes. ALthough youll have to buy the mounting brackets to do it.
