I don't want to go over this total as its already pushed me over the original £1500 but i think its worth it. Already have k/b, mouse, speakers and soundcard. Thanks for looking

Thanks, yeah thats what i was thinking do i go 50 quid more for the Q6600 and use my existing case? Will i really notice the difference between dual and quad for my gaming purposes (mainly FPS) i know RTS games tend to rely on the CPU quite a bit. Current case is a Thermaltake Kandalf (yah i was young and attracted by flashy lights and a window, but it should be big enough for this)

Bottom line is i've got £2000 but i dont really want to spend all of it unless you can convince me otherwise

Thanks Stickroad that looks pretty good, i thought that PSU may be overkill myself (friend from Oc recommended it). Do you know if the Abit board will support the 45nm processors? The reason i went for the 8500 memory was due to the spiel on the asus board..

"ASUS has managed to break through current FSB and DRAM ratio proportions by utilizing Super Memspeed Technology - the latest technology that provides even more precise overclocking options to unleash the true potential of DDR2 memory. Native DDR2 1066 maximizes system performance by eliminating the bottleneck when overclocking both the CPU and memory"

Is that a load of tosh? Many thanks and sorry for all the questions :)

@stickroad :Oh forgot to say i have a zalmann cpu cooler (9700NT) already, i did look at that case (eclipse 62) quite a lot but i think i couldnt live with myself if i didnt have the LianLi

@Ak!ta, Stickroad: If i will be moving to Penryn when they come out would it be better to stick with a cheaper dual core over the quad and clock the nuts off it?

Thanks for all your help

EDIT: argh stealth edits!!!! LOL

Ah right, so it may be prudent to get a Q6600 to tide me over till Nehalem then! Thanks for that :) Oh one last question any reason for BFG over EVGA on the GFX, always been a bit of a BFG boi but the step up swung me to EVGA, also do you know if they still do black pcbs or is it pot luck?

EDIT: wait i answered my own question the BFG is clocked faster! Now i just have to wait for it to come in stock :(

Even bigger edit: Right so with your help i have this!
