the system is more for gaming but there is likely going to have 2-3 video cards in it for folding as well

this is replacing what i am about to sell/sold in my sig

i need

case (May need to fit an H50 corsair and the case needs 8 PCI slots not the default 7 {GPU Folding })
Lancool Dragon-Lord PC-K62 has my interest but may need 8pin extend cable (PSU at bottem)

CPU
motherboard
DDR3

this below looks very tempting for £510 as it comes preclocked at 4Ghz so saves me the fuss (but i would ask them to set it up with 8gb of ram so more likely be £610 as long as they use the dual chan Kit not the Quad 8gb kit £35? more)
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=BU-012-OB

1 X Intel Core i5 750 2.66Ghz @ 4.00GHz Socket LGA1156
1 X Gigabyte GA-P55-UD5 Intel P55 (Socket 1156) DDR3 Motherboard
1 X Corsair XMS3 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (CMX4GX3M2A1600C9)
1 X Corsair H50-1 High-Performance CPU Watercooler
1 X Arctic Cooling MX-2 Thermal Compound

i quite happy to OC it my self so if it can be done cheaper with the above specs (8gb ram) please post in here (I5 overclocking seems quite easy any way), if you can recommend an Asus motherboard that be nice as i can get them my self from my supplier (bit better as i can get 1-2 week replacement for parts 2-3 year warranty with them)

i would like to have
ATI 5870

i have
PCI, X-Fi Fatal1ty FPS (may not be able to use this)
SSD Corsair S128 (i know its slower then an HDD Data rate wise but its still faster then an HDD access time wise, access time is what makes the SSD faster then HDD any way)
PSU (TK 1200W)
1TB Black hdd
asus 21" MW221
some 3x 9800gx2 cards around (really bending towards 5870)

yeh definetley get the 5870 the 9800x2s are old and no DX 11

if your going to run more than one graphics card tbh you dont need it

if you are sticking with that monitor it'll plough through anything around 1080p :D

regarding the bundle i would say buy them seperately and experience overclocking

dude makes things more satisfying :D

If your planning to stack graphics cards then would it not be worth going i7? I know that i5 and i7 seem to vope ok with xfire of the current card range but later will this be so? Could maybe go i7 and drop to a 5850 I am told there is little between them at this stage by good old Tom.

Just food for thought :)

I think the reason for wanting i7 is due to the x32 pci arrangement, allowing you to crossfire two cards at full x16 mode.

I would say it's worth it, I think if you were to purchase separately too, you might be able to get within a close region on that bundle, still afford a 5870.

However the I7 bundle is more expensive then the I5, not to mention the I5 performs roughly the same in games then the I7. If it was me i would go the cheaper I5 route and save the money you have left for furture GPU's or future upgrades :)

the i5 bundle + extra 4gb ram and case was 710 (800 with sound card)

the below i7 setup is with sound card as well but no extra ram (6gb should be plenty) comes out at 785, i would need to overclock this my self as well

Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD5 Intel X58 (Socket 1366) PCI-Express DDR3 Motherboard £209.98
Intel Core i7 920 D0 Stepping (SLBEJ) 2.66Ghz (Nehalem) (Socket LGA1366) - OEM £204.98
OCZ Gold 6GB (3x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C8 (1600MHz) Tri-Channel (OCZ3G1600LV6GK) £129.76
Asus Xonar D2X 7.1 PCI-Express Sound Card (90-YAA055-1UAN00Z) £84.99
Lancool Dragon-Lord PC-K62 Mid Tower Case with Window - Black £81.73
Corsair H50-1 High-Performance CPU Watercooler (Socket LGA775/1156/1366/AM2/AM3) £58.99

i am still thinking about the 5870 but i do fold and Nvidia cards are still far better for this task, as i have an number of 9800GX2 cards i am guessing that Nvidia Quad SLI would work with this motherboard

I was going to cheat and buy a bundle but its so much cheaper to buy the bits yourself that even if you took a weekend getting it stable it would still be worth it imo.

Plenty of people \ guides here to help you.

also any one really had any issues with 4870 as the GTX280 price was refunded to me i can get an Peak 4870 1gb or {ASUS 1GB GTS 250 DARK KNIGHT} (no higher as thats all i can get off my list higher end cards are completely not in stock) still bit wearily of selling an ATI card in an high end system for an user who is not fully clued up on systems (Nvidia i know will give me the install and forget ideal)
