Im not sure whether to keep my 7800gtx and ditch the graphics, if i do go for the graphics it will be an ATI card because i just find the IQ nicer

Im assuming that this would fit in my current case which is an old coolmaster 201, yes they really dont make them like this anymore

I've owned ATI cards since 9550 and I also found that the ATI had better IQ but I really can't notice any difference with the 8 series Nvidias. The below is cheaper and a lot more powerful:

Asus P5KC Combo Intel P35 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 & DDR3 Motherboard
£69.99 (£82.24)

Thanks but is that because the 8800 has better IQ or the ATI is worst. I had 4 gig of ram before but your spec only has 2

Yes sorry

All depends what game you play. 7800GTX is still reasonably fast in DX9 games at resolution of 1440x900 or less. So if you're not into the latest games and have a relatively small screen it's a good idea to keep the 7800GTX.

From reading the user experiences in this forum the 8 series hugely improves IQ over the previous 7 series, bringing the standard upto/exceeds the ATI couterparts.
