yes or no on that motherboard please will it overclock that cpu well enough?

but in answer to the OP's question is this board OK? I'm looking at the same upgrade and I'm not interested in the i5 chips - good as they are

Happy to support AMD with the Piledriver and am not really interested in the mines faster than yours argument - this chip will run everything I need (albeit a few fps slower apparently). I doubt I will be able to tell the difference anyway and (a) I'll save a few quid and (b) I'll be supporting AMD so maybe they will come out with a Intel beater next gen. Competition is in the interests of everyone here in terms of prices and technology - can you imagine if AMD drop out of the CPU sector and concentrates on the lower end market?

That's on you then fella. The AMD CPU sucks more power from the wall at stock than the i5K does overclocked. The 8350 also runs a lot hotter and isn't good for overclocking. We want people to get the most for their cash, we happily recommend AMDs FM2 socket for tight budget gaming rigs but no one should really entertain the 8350 as a new build

See what I mean? ;) We do like Gigabyte mobos for the 3 year uk based warranty and the dual bios. I've used this Asus to help save a few quid but even going with the Z77 D3H would keep it to what he wanted to pay going AMD
