ok here's the plan. Gonna upgrade myself to Sandybridge and try to fix my old 775 core2duo rig in one fell swoop.

The items in bold I'm about to order. Anything I should add or take out? :)
Both rigs are for gaming

Rig 1
"Radon Allosaur" Intel Core i5 2500K 3.30GHz @ 4.40GHz Overclocked Bundle - Asus
Fractal Design Define R3 Midi Tower Case - Titanium Grey
Samsung SpinPoint F3 500GB SATA-II 16MB Cache - OEM (HD502HJ)

OcUK ATI Radeon 6950 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card [already got]
Corsair TX 650W ATX SLi Compliant Power Supply [already got]
XP-Pro 32bit [already got]

Going for the overclocked bundle because I haven't got the time anymore to overclock & I haven't got the time to research for the best possible bang for my buck either.
Not going with SSD yet -will wait for prices to drop.
Sticking with XP-Pro for time being (tight fisted)

Any compatibility issues amongst this lot?
Should I really upgrade to Windows 7 -is this lot wasted on XP 32bit?
Is there a better case in the same price range -must be mid-sized & quiet

======================================================

Rig 2 -will give to son if it works
Gigabyte GA-G31M-ES2L Intel G31 (Socket 775) DDR2 MicroATX Motherboard
OCZ StealthXStream 2 500W Power Supply

e6400 [already got] -praying it still works
8800GTX [already got] -hopefully still works

Went for this Gigabyte mobo [replacing a most likely dead GA965p-DS3P] because, although I'm probably gonna lose out on some sata ports due to the size of the GTX, there's half a chance it might overclock reasonably.

Any other 775 mobos I should consider? -It needs to clock reasonably. Ideally wanted standard ATX size but will make do with microATX.
This OCZ PSU should be more than capable?

DX11 card with windows XP (only DX9 support) think that's enough reason to upgrade by itself!

The PSU should be fine with the 8800GTX.

The Gigabyte board should be fine if you're not bothered about the SATA ports, you could always buy a cheap PCIE SATA card if needed.

Ok you convinced me. Windoze 7 it is then. 64bit the one to go for?
Hadn't thought about a SATA card. Excellent recommendation :)
