Thinking of this, yes I know 4870x2 is better and blah blah.. I just want something thats going to be hassle free, dont want to worry about driver profiles for crossfire etc :) Going to be a max resolution of 1920x1200 (maybe even 1680x if i go 22").

So.. heres what i was thinking:

Been thinking its unlikely i will ever bother getting another video card before i upgrade the system completely anyway. Already got a spinpoint 1tb drive and sata dvd writer elsewhere..

Will this be good/stable, and is this board decent for overclocking with the setup i have?

Thanks :)

GeIL Black Dragon RAM instead of G.Skill for overclocking. Not a fan of Tagan PSU's myself, but if you want to save some pennies you can probably opt for a slightly lower power one, I dont think that setup would require more than a sturdy 650w.

I am suprised about the tagan psu comment, i thought they were one of the decent brands.. And its so shiny :)

As for RAM I aso thought G.Skill was decent.. I looked at GeIL Now, is the only diff between

Peak draw of that PC is below 350W so 500W quality PSU wouldn't have any problems. 600W could already handle some heavy overclocking.

And Topower isn't exactly considered as one of the top PSU manufacturers.

Drop the GTX280 for a 4870. While you lose speed, you do keep your cash because of the less expensive electricity bills, and the £120 cash on top. It is fast enough for your display resolution.

The memory kit you have chosen is good. One of the ones that I recommend from Newegg to Americans. It is up to you, I would change it to the Black Dragon kit myself, it does save some money.

Change the power supply to an HX520. Plenty of power for your setup, and take the motherboard down to a P5Q Pro. Other than that, it is fine.
