A family friend has asked me to check some specs for a gaming pc for her son. As usual in these scenarios, the budget is low and the links I'm being sent for pre-builds is laughable .

I've offered to build one, and just thrown this together in a few mins:

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5700X3D 3 GHz 8-Core Processor £193.00

CPU Cooler: AMD Wraith Prism 2800 CFM CPU Cooler £64.81

Motherboard: MSI MAG B550 TOMAHAWK MAX WIFI ATX AM4 Motherboard £149.99

Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4-3600 CL18 Memory £64.98

Storage: Kingston NV2 1 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 4.0 X4 NVME Solid State Drive £50.10

Video Card: MSI GeForce RTX 3060 Ventus 2X 12G GeForce RTX 3060 12GB 12 GB Video Card £248.99

Case: be quiet! Pure Base 500DX ATX Mid Tower Case £99.98

Power Supply: Super Flower Leadex III Gold 850 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply

Total: £871.85

Are there any obvious things to change? Budget is around 850-900 tops.

I know th PSU is more than needed, but I want to at least try and leave room for upgrades in the future (plus maybe see what's on MM rather than go for a 3 series card).

Games wise, he wants to play helldivers 2, which should be ok with a 3060 (certainly is with my ti version).

No idea on what monitor they currently have, but I assume it will be 1080p at best.

Thanks in advance for any help

The Thermalright Peerless Assassin is better and only £30 - if it will fit in the case.

I'm a big fan of the Kolink Citadel Mesh (also available with RGB) but that's mATX. I think the ATX version is the Observatory HF Plus which comes with 6 RGB fans for £55 but make sure you get the one with the mesh front.
