I have decided to spend a bit more money and get the GTX as I don't want to be hanging around for my new PC. The above will be used for playing games and will be overclocked. Monitor is a 22" (1680x1050). I am hoping to get the CPU to arounf 3ghz or so. As for the HSF I don't really want to get anything too big as it is going in quite a small case (hencethe micro-atx board).

Is there anything else you would change there. Please bear in mind that this is already stretching my meagre budget so I can't spend anymore money on it.

HDD is only 160gb as I don't keep a lot of media on my pc, all there will be is games and office.

Thanks a lot

Matt

Hi,

Can anyone tell me:

Will the processor be ok used with the faster gfx card when clocked or will it be a bottle neck?
Is the mobo good enough to clock the processor with?
Will the HSF be good enough to cool the processor when clocked?

The CPU will be fine when overclocked and won't be a significant bottleneck although that will partially depend on how far you take the CPU.

Don't know too much about the motherboard but mATX motherboards generally aren't that good for clocking, there is an Abit Fatal1ty one that is supposed to be about the best but it does cost rather more.

Should be fine, it already comes with MX-1/MX-2 paste pre-applied so you might not need the AS5 if you put it on straight the first time. :)

ok, if I get the fatality board (EDIT: or possibly the Gigabyte GA-G33M-DS2R as it is the same price) and remove the paste is that the best bet? I probably have some artic silver around somewhere but though I'd get a new one just in case. I can't really spend more than that and can't go for a non matx board due to my case.

How fast will the cpu be able to do on this board?

Thanks

Matt

ahh ok, if you're case limited stay with you're original option, as i dont think you'll be much better off paying more.
