Hi,

I want to keep the budget close around the 800 mark, so how is this then ?

Let me know if anything is better changed

Basically fine, as mentioned you may want to go for an X1950pro as you are unlikely to notice any performance difference and you may also be better to change the CPU cooler to the Tuniq Tower but other than that it looks good. :)

Could get an X1950Pro for a bit cheaper & save towards a DX10 Card.

Which do u reccomend, as I would like the 512Mb Version, Ive seen the powercolour one, here, its cheaper , but have noticed that its core and memory speeds are slower. Would it make much of a difference ?

If you mean another card, could you link which u think I should get

To let you guys know, i will be gaming at a 17in tft highest res, but changing to a 22inch widescreen within two months of getting the rig.

Oh yea, and I understand that this cpu and motherboard will overclock nicely, as I plan to overclock it a bit in the future

would it not be better to get a cheaper card & then get the monitor & wait for a decent DX10 Card?

a 256MB X1950 Pro would do the job nicely...

Oh yea thats what I am planning on doing, I am going to use the 17in tft that I already have.

Yeah, id just go for the X1950Pro 256mb, that should handle most games on highest res and detail.

Also saves you a bit towards the new monitor/gfx card.

If you got one that was more expensive, you'd be losing money when u order the next one.

But, if you do want the 7950GT then go for it.

Both are about equal i would say.

I'd get the HIS one myself, due to the fact its less than £5 difference and you get the extra speed. Other than that they are similar.

THe rig total now comes to 773, would it be worth it going for a more expensive/better motherboard to use the spare amount of money ?

Taking into account that I will be getting a DX10 card, aswell as maybe upgrading to quadcore if the system ever needs it.

Would the 520 Watt PSU in my spec be fine for the future DX10 cards ? I wont be going for a sli system or crossfire system.

A DS4 would offer you firewire, slightly better audio and a better cooling system for the motherboard over the DS3 so if you want to spend all your budget then that is about the only upgrade I'd bother to make over the DS3.

The Corsair 520w should be absolutely fine for DX10 cards as well, SLi or Crossfire would be rather risky but since you say you aren't going for that the PSU is a good solid choice. :)

Me again, some more questions !

Alright this is the new spec with the changed graphics card, and also added in windows xp OS as I forgot.

I am very happy with this spec, its now at £832, which I am happy with.

I want this to be a quiet system, as it about 2 meters away from my head when Im sleeping. Does anyone have experience with the cpu cooler fan, and the fans supplied with the lian li case ? I know that the cooler on the GPU is said to be a nice and quiet, so gone with that, aswell as a good cooler for overclocking.
