Should be fine with a 380W PSU? Will the Gigabyte S3 support the E4300 out of the box? Finally, for a gaming PC, will we be better with 64 bit Vista or 32?

Thanks

Ben

You should be able to get a 19" monitor for that price range. The Asus 19" Widscreen can be had for £108+Vat.

Also - a bigger hardrive might be an idea. Again wont be much in terms of price.

Looks good, Im sure 380w will be enough (is he clocking at all?) The Antec PSUs tend to be good (i've got one ;)) Not so sure about the S3 supporting the E4300 (but I don't see why not?) I take it £600 is his/her budget? You could probably squeeze in a 19" monitor in there if it is (budget permitting of course :))

Should just about get away with that PSU, might be cutting it fine. Its worth a go though, Antec are quality PSUs and it won't take out the other components if there isnt enough power!

I'd be tempted though to swap the case for a much better one for less. Namely the Akasa Zen - £29. Amazing build quality for budget case, loads of room and excellent airflow. Then I would buy a 450W Antec PSU to go into it and then no worries and a sexy case for less ;)

Thanks everyone :) His budget is actually around £470 but he's said he'll stretch to £563 if it improves performance a lot. (I was originally speccing an AM2 machine for him, but persuaded gim to go C2D  ) Only question I'm left with now is 32-bit Vista or 64?
